Santa's Little Helper
Port Brewing Co
Russian Imperial Stout
10.5% ABV
It's Christmas Eve. In about 7 hours, Advent will be over and it will be Christmas. Tonight, I am drinking by 27th beer for Advent(ures) in Beer. Tomorrow, I"ll have one more, and then it will be time for a new journey.
Tonight's beer is Port Brewing Co's Santa's Little Helper. This beer has many good qualities, but it might be a bit too much for me. It's a barrel-aged porter, and like some of the other beers of this same style, the sweetness and the strength is a bit overwhelming. A small pour of this beer at a beer festival would no doubt be delightful. But drinking a full 12 oz bottle is perhaps a bit much.
I used to love barrel-aged beers. Perhaps my own tastes have changed over time.
