Trappistes Rochefort 6
7.5% ABV
Tonight is our first foray into a Belgian Trappist beer. As you will no doubt soon discover, the Trappist beers are, in general, my favorite beers. Beer Advocate lists the 6 as a Dubbel style. It's a bit lighter colored than your average Dubbel, but it's every bit as much delicious. Personally, I think the Rochefort 6 is a great beer to unwind with at the end of the day -- provided, of course, that you either limit yourself to one or switch to something with a lower ABV if you want to have a second.
At some point between now and Christmas, I'll also be reviewing the 8 & 10, which are the 6's bigger siblings.
Tomorrow: Trois Pistoles
